I’m an IT professional who built Total Tech Safety after relatives got caught in a scam and lost thousands from their retirement. I learned that the 50-plus age group gets targeted with scams and cybercrime a lot more than everyone else, but it’s not really something we talk about.

Having worked in IT, I knew that business executives get targeted a lot too. Sometimes they even fall for it! The difference is that they have layers of protection in place. I wondered why this type of service didn’t exist for individual consumers.

With a background in IT and Cybersecurity and years of experience helping guide individuals through IT related issues, I built a business that protects normal people. I built a multi-layer tech protection service that combines well-known and well-documented best practices with a level customer service you don’t normally get from a tech company.

Scot MacTaggart

I'm an entrepreneur and executive with more than twenty years in technology, with most of it centering around physical security and information security. I spent a large portion of my career designing and deploying protection measures for corporations and governments.

My security work has involved me in a wide variety of unexpected scenarios, from robberies and kidnappings to ransomware and IP theft. I’ve partnered with local and state police, a wide array of federal agencies, and corporate security teams. I’ve served some of the largest public and private clients in the world.

At TOTAL Tech Safety, I think the most helpful thing I bring to the table is that I’ve had to explain security concepts for a very long time. We’ve developed an extensive customer support playbook, but it’s based on tried and true approaches I’ve been studying and observing since 2004.
